The Event is New Zealand’s premier hot air ballooning event and one of the biggest in Asia/Australasia. It attracts balloonists from around the world, spectators from all over the North Island, and national and international media exposure.

Your sponsorship ensures this Festival is kept free to the public. This allows families from all socio-economic backgrounds to not only attend, but be part of the many other opportunities to be involved that we provide, either as a school, service group or the nominated charity that we support.

WEL Energy Trust has been a strategic partner of the Balloons over Waikato event since 1999. We are delighted to continue our ongoing involvement in 2013.	We are particulary proud of this sponsorship as ASB has demonstrated very high levels of integrity and innovation in its banking operation and has a huge level of involvement in sponsorship throughout the community from which we all benefit.	We are delighted to be involved with The University of Waikato. Not only are they a significant partner of the Event, but allow us the use of the grounds for The Nightglow. This site has enormous benefits as it provides better parking,easier access to the grounds, more room for the growing crowd and extended vistas for viewing the Glow.
